Our Story
When I was a young man, my life was anything but healthy. I grew up in an abusive home where no matter what I did, I couldn’t please my stepfather. Eventually, I ended up homeless, living on the streets. I graduated high school alone, without family, just several friends who showed up to surprise me.
In my early 20s, I carried a lot of anger and pain. I didn’t know the Lord then. But God had a plan. I met a beautiful woman who has now been my wife for over 34 years, and together we’ve raised two amazing children. My wife loved the Lord from the very beginning, and even when I didn’t know Him, she faithfully prayed over our children and over me. Her prayers became a covering for our family that I didn’t fully understand at the time, but I see now how powerful they were.
Even with all the challenges, I was always an entrepreneur at heart. In my 20s, I owned the largest upholstery shop in the desert, building a business that taught me what it means to serve customers and create value. That drive to build never left me.
We later moved to Colorado, and while my entrepreneurial spirit stayed strong, not everything was easy. I partnered with a group buying and flipping real estate, only to learn one of the partners was running a Ponzi scheme. My family and I lost close to $2 million. I’ll never forget watching my daughters pack up their rooms and my wife box up our home—while the people I thought were friends disappeared. My ex-partner walked away with little more than a slap on the wrist, while my family lost nearly everything. To this day, that pain is real.
But it wasn’t the only time. Later, I got caught in another investment group that turned out to be a scam. This time people lost smaller amounts, but I carried the burden. Through it all, I learned how lonely it feels to face battles on your own.
And yet something powerful came out of all of it. In 2013, my oldest daughter, Aubree, looked at her parents and said, “Together, We Are Stronger.” She saw that even when life knocked us down, we never quit. We kept moving forward. That phrase became our family motto, so much so that Aubree has Together We Are Stronger tattooed over her heart as a constant reminder of what we stand for.
That motto became more than just words—it became a mission. I created TWRS so that no one, whether in life or in business, has to feel alone the way I did. It’s about building leaders, building communities, and standing shoulder to shoulder to create change.
Together We Are Stronger is not just my story—it’s the guiding light for anyone who needs hope, resilience, and a reminder that none of us succeed alone.
